What is the difference between organza fabric and tulle fabric?

Organza is a woven fabric. Today, most organza is made offshore and is 45" wide. It is usually only available in a limited color range and may be made of polyester, nylon, or other fibers. When slit or cut, the fabric will fray.

Tulle is available in a variety of widths (3” - 54”) in a broad range of colors (over 60). It is made of nylon. It will not fray when cut.

What width tulle should I get to drape a ceiling?

We recommend the widest available (54”), as tulle is very thin and light. It is better to have too much than too little.

How much tulle and what width do I need to make a pew bow?

If you are intertwining a ribbon with the tulle, we recommend tulle that is 6 - 9 inches wide and approximately 5-6 yards long to make a nice full bow with lots of loops. If you are making a pew bow with only tulle, we recommend 5 - 6 yards of tulle that is 12 inches wide.

Standard for the Flammability of Clothing Textiles

Our tulle and net are rated Class 1 according to the standard for the flammability of clothing textiles (CFR Title 16 Part 1610). If you need the fabric to pass a particular test, please advise the test method. We will inform you of the price for testing at an independent lab, and then provide you with a copy of the test report prior to shipping. Testing usually takes 5 - 7 days to complete.
